COACHING

A Pro-Active and Creative Approach to Change

Grounded in practical scientific knowledge of how people make deliberate positive change, coaching helps you move beyond unhealthy patterns and live more from your authentic self.

When you’re caught up in stress, anxiety and overwhelm, it can feel impossible to get free. There’s simply too many demands on your time and energy to even think about making changes.

The sad irony of feeling trapped in this way, is that getting free is much easier than the trapped state of mind would ever imagine. Someone might even give you the key to get out, but you brush it off, simply because you’re too busy.

But with some honest self-reflection, and applying science based tools for transformation, you can move move beyond the unbalanced patterns of stress and anxiety and into a more inspired way of being.

My personal experience with anxiety has given me a unique understanding and skillset to help you make your journey.

I know what it’s like to feel locked into struggle and anxiety. I also know what it’s like to finally relax and discover an easier way.

If you're inspired to make some changes let's have a conversation. Arrange a complimentary 45 minute call to learn how my coaching can help.

At age six I had a near drowning accident, which left me in a state of ongoing struggle. After school I would come home and lay on my back for an hour of deep breathing, to calm storm in my body and mind. Those were my first sessions of self-healing.

I struggled along through my childhood and teenage years, and then at age 18 a big turning point came when I discovered meditation and Tibetan Buddhism. I also found therapists, healers and shamans, and explored a wide range of remedies, methods and techniques. Slowly over the decades relief gradually came.

Eventually I arrived at a place where anxiety is no longer a big issue for me. I became inspired to train as a Health and Wellness Coach to make use of my experience and knowledge, to help others overcome chronic struggle and anxiety.

My coaching method synthesizes everything I’ve learned through direct hands-on experience, and education and training in a range of transformational arts and sciences.

My coaching formula:

Courageous Self-Discovery + Transformational Tools
= Awareness, Engagement and Flow

Courageous Self-Discovery + Transformational Tools

= Awareness, Ability and Flow

Courageous Self-Discovery: Coaching conversations and processes help you make a journey into your very own self. You gain clarity into how you are showing up, both the ways that are working and those that aren’t. At the same time, you re-discover your natural power bank of strength and inspiration.

Transformational Tools: Coaching incorporates proven tools from the sciences of transformational change, including neuroplasticity, positive psychology, mindfulness, and others. The coaching partnership helps you apply these tools to your unique situation and personhood. Changes are awakened and activated, and you learn to embody new ways of thinking, feeling and living.

The difficulties most people struggle with are generally in these three areas:
Life balance, emotional flow, and authenticity and meaning.

Life Balance

When life is out of balance, stress builds up, and we get caught in a cycle of endless doing. We feel overwhelmed by the demands on our time and energy, and we forget how to relax and enjoy our life. We lose clarity and confidence, and our life movement becomes stifled.

Given the demands we’re faced with everyday, balance seems impossible. But once we decide we want balance more than we’re convinced it’s not possible, the game changes. Coaching synthesizes the best from leading-edge sciences of change to help you regain control of your life. You discover new perspectives and resources, and gradually balance becomes your default mode.

Emotional Flow

Most educational systems are rooted in brain intelligence, but emotional intelligence is often ignored. Thus we end up struggling with difficult emotions such as anger, jealousy and fear, and we project false intentions onto others. And because life gets so busy we never manage to learn the ‘outer and inner skills’ of healthy emotional processing.

Rather than being a burden, emotional energy is part of our natural human equipment: It’s a source of strength and wealth. Through engaged conversation, exploratory exercises, and follow-through in your everyday life, coaching helps you develop more emotional awareness, flow and efficacy.

Authenticity and Meaning

Another major factor in struggle and anxiety is that we get hijacked by agendas not of our own making. We get seduced by ‘extrinsic’ motivators such as status, money, and fulfilling the expectations of our parents and others in society. We lose touch with our own true self and end up living someone else’s life.

Coaching takes the stance that you are naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Coaching processes help you get in touch with your intrinsic self, and to live from that wellspring of genuine strength. Healthier ways of being are awakened and cultivated, and gradually your best self takes stewardship of your life.

Challenges

A major source of our struggles is accumulated stress and fear. These are both natural responses to life, however when we don’t consciously process them they become frozen in our body, mind, and behaviours. We lose confidence and clarity, and our life movement becomes stifled.

Pathways Forward

Coaching synthesizes the best from the leading edge sciences of change, to help you regain control of your life. Through a wealth of research and experience we now know how body, mind, and behavior become cross-wired through various stressors. Fortunately, research and experience has also given us the knowledge and methods to unwind the knots and restore natural, balanced functioning.

Healthier ways of being are awakened and cultivated, and gradually our best self takes stewardship of our life.

As a teenager I self medicated with drugs, alcohol, and crime, and ran pretty wild for several years. Then one day I woke up and realized I needed to turn my life around. I went from being a twice, grade-ten drop out, to in grade 12 having the highest mark in the school in both math and physics. At graduation I was awarded a special award for “exemplary discipline and perseverance.”

I’m telling you this now, because I learned early in life to never give up. I didn’t give up on myself, and I won’t give up on you. If you have given up, come and spend some time with me and I’ll help you awaken your own unshakeable conviction.

From there I’ll help you move forward to clarify your own vision for how you really want to be, and then I’ll help you make it so.

Absence of struggle allows you to move the energies in your life, in directions of your own choosing.
